John Wayne Fox received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Fairfield University in 1968. He received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law Center in 1971. Mr. Fox is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut, United States District Court of Connecticut, United States Court of Appeals Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Attorney Fox was a member of the Stamford Board of Representatives from 1975 to 1979, serving as President of that Board in his final term. He was elected to the General Assembly in 1980 and served as a member of the State House of Representatives from 1981 to 2004. During that period of time, he served on numerous committees, including the Judiciary Committee and as Chairman of the General Law Committee. In 2004 he served as Co-Chairman of the Committee established by the State House of Representatives to investigate the impeachment of the then sitting Governor.
Attorney Fox serves as Town Counsel for the Town of Darien and held that position since 1999. He served as Town Attorney for the Town of Greenwich from 2005 - 2020.
Attorney Fox has been listed as one of the best lawyers in Fairfield County based upon a review by his peers. He has achieved an AV rating as reported in the legal publication Martindale Hubbell. The AV rating is awarded to those attorneys whose peers rate him at the highest level of professionalism.
He is a member of the Fairfield County and Connecticut Bar Associations, American Association of Trial Lawyers and Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.
His areas of practice include litigation, commercial law, municipal law, tax appeals and eminent domain.
